what classes should I take for pregnancy birth
  • P4P is an in-person or virtual 3-class educational series taught by qualified certified personal trainers and pregnancy and postpartum corrective exercise specialists.

    We offer a fun and interactive environment where we educate and prepare pregnant moms to overcome and become aware of common “mom issues” that many often face in their 4th trimester and beyond.

  • Pregnant moms in any trimester. We highly recommend timing taking this class after the 1st trimester and before 36 weeks if possible.

    First-time moms and moms who have had multiple prior pregnancies are all welcome (6x moms have attended this class!)

  • In Prepared 4 Postpartum, you'll learn:

    • common prenatal and postpartum terms and basic anatomy to help you grasp important topics and foundational principles

    • why everyday posture matters

    • what kinds of habits you’ve developed before or during pregnancy (and not even realized) that may contribute to postpartum pain, leaking, or other issues

    • simple tips and exercises to strengthen common problem areas for moms

    • to ditch the fear of your body changing

    • what happens during a c-section, how to address the scar, & common physical restrictions

    • why functional movement and strength training matter

    • how exercise translates into your daily tasks

    • how to proactively prevent many of the common postpartum “mom problems”

    • what kinds of mistakes moms often make when they get back into fitness after pregnancy

    • how quickly you can get back to a pre-pregnancy routine after birth

    • what pelvic floor physical therapy is like and if/when you should go

    • who to reach out to for specific help or guidance

  • P4P isn’t a class you’ll find anywhere else!

    This class series is for you, mama. It’s designed to prepare you for the often unacknowledged physical changes and fitness challenges every mom experiences after baby arrives.

    This class is not a childbirth education class or focused on baby - although we do talk about these things and do recommend you go to childbirth education (we have some great courses we recommend)!

    During pregnancy, all your time and effort tends to go towards preparing for your baby arrival and maintaining a healthy pregnancy, but not a lot of time is dedicated to thinking about how you can recover physically and mentally in the best way possible - both initially and long term.

    We’ll give you a plan now, so after baby arrives you’ll know just want to do to get your fitness and health back on track.

    After this class, you’ll have confidence in your recovery process and more grace and patience because you’ve prepared yourself beforehand.

  • Our in-person experience includes:

    • 7.5 dedicated hours of in-person class time (Three weeks of 2.5 hour classes)

    • Fun, informative, and Interactive in-person presentation with postpartum fitness experts, certified personal trainers, and Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialists Andrea (Drea) Renkas and Britney Suttner

    • Personalized guidance

    • Socializing

    • Notes, handouts, & resources folder

    • Hands-on activities, exercise practice, and Q&A time

    • Healthy snacks, tea & water

    • Opportunity to meet a local pelvic floor physical therapist and other speakers (mental health therapists, lactation, and/or doula support as available)

Virtual Class Experience FAQ

  • P4P Virtual is a great option for those who cannot attend an in-person class!

    Here's how it works:

    • P4P Virtual starts with a LIVE Zoom welcome call, so you can get to know the other moms in your class!

    • The coinciding in-person P4P classes are recorded and uploaded to a private portal. To answer questions, discuss topics further and connect as a class, Virtual participants are invited to join a LIVE Zoom Q&A 1 week after each recording is uploaded (for a total of 3 Q&A events)!

    • Q&A classes are recorded as well if this time/date does not work for you.

    We encourage all moms to attend P4P in person if they can, as hands-on help with exercises and getting to know your classmates in person are invaluable. But we also understand that work schedules, distance, and other factors prevent moms from attending in-person, and P4P Virtual is a great way to get the information you need to feel empowered, confident, prepared & connected!

  • Virtual attendees receive the same post-class benefits as the in-person class: Access to Reconnect Events, a class reunion, five months of guided postpartum programs through the Fit MOM MVMT, a Motherhood Alliance congratulations basket (local only), and a Fit MOM tank top (all attendees)!
