Fit Moms on the Move, LLC (originally known as 360° Fitness, LLC) was formed in March 2014. After Andrea's first child was born in October 2013 and she got back into group exercise teaching again, she started realizing that a lot of moms, including herself, were having a hard time adjusting to their new "mom bodies" and finding safe prenatal and postpartum workout options without sacrificing their time with their baby (or paying extra to have someone to babysit). She also quickly understood that becoming a mom was a significant life change and that, mentally, it was a tough road to travel alone. But she wasn't alone in her thinking and feeling about being a new mother. It didn't take long before she realized how important it was for her to be around other mothers with their experiences and advice. Not only for the support she needed as a new mom but for her mental health and need to socialize and build relationships as well.
With all this knowledge, she knew there was a need gap within the local fitness community. There was a need for specific classes that educate moms on safe and effective prenatal and postpartum exercise techniques. There was also a need for a space for moms to go to share experiences, challenges, advice, and gain encouragement and support. She started thinking about how she could help moms connect with each other while also integrating her fitness instructor experience within safe and effective prenatal and postpartum friendly exercise classes, all while keeping the kids close.
After doing some research, she knew she wanted her sister on board. Britney had a Bachelor of Exercise Science, an extensive background in all aspects of fitness and group exercise classes, and a passion for helping others. She wasn't a mom at the time, but Andrea asked her if she'd like to join her in her new endeavor, and of course, Brit said yes!
In early 2015, both Drea and Britney received their Prenatal and Postpartum Fitness Certification and started to offer specific classes in Summer 2015. In 2019, Fit MOM gained two new fitness instructors - Rachel and Kristin! Drea and Brit are continually working on their continuing education. The year 2020 threw everyone for a loop. They had planned exploring online fitness option in Fall/Winter of 2020, but the COVID pandemic rushed those plans in to overdrive! They started offering online classes to help moms cope with the craziness of 2020 and really started to get their feet wet in teaching both online classes via Zoom and starting their YouTube channel. 2020 proved to be a very busy time for them. In mid 2020, they earned their ACE Personal Trainer certifications and, in order to really specialize and focus on postpartum fitness and health, are currently working on completing an extensive Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist course by January 2021.
