4 Ways to Honor & CelebrateYour Postpartum Body
Your body is amazing. It produced life! Look at your body with its stretch marks and loose skin as badges of honor. Celebrate your body, honor it, and show respect to yourself and your body. Here's 4 practical tips to honor and celebrate your postpartum body!
1. Practice Gratitude
It’s easy to get caught up in the “perfection” of postpartum moms on IG. The idea that moms should bounce back immediately after birth can create toxic thoughts and feelings. Step away. Shift perspective. Be thankful for the beautiful, hard working body you have! It created life!
2. It’s a Season
Every stage of motherhood is different. Pre-conception, conception, 1st, 2nd, 3rd trimesters, birth, 4th trimester, and beyond. All these are seasons of change, while difficult in their own ways, should be acknowledged and honored.
3. Practice Self Care
You may hear that a lot. Self care means something different for everyone. It doesn’t need to be elaborate or expensive. Movement is medicine. So is proper nourishment. What fills your cup?
5. Find Your Tribe
Surrounding yourself with other supportive and encouraging moms is by far one of the best decisions you can make. It’s tough to reach out and take a chance to out yourself out there, but your mental health is worth it!
Your body really is amazing and deserves to be celebrated. What other ways can you think of that would honor your body?
